π BEAR ONE ANOTHER'S BURDENS! π
πGal 6:2 NIV
"Carry each other’s burdens, and IN THIS WAY you will fulfill the law of Christ."
First of, let it be known with all certainty that BELIEVERS are NOT under the LAW OF MOSES.
πGalatians 3:25 But after that faith is come, WE ARE NO LONGER UNDER a schoolmaster (the Law).
However, BELIEVERS are under the LAW OF CHRIST. This is the LAW OF LOVE. ♥ππ (Agape)!
πJohn 13:34 A NEW commandment (LAW) I give unto you, That ye LOVE ONE ANOTHER; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
π If we love fellow believers we will want to HELP them IN EVERYTHING that makes life difficult and burdensome for them. ✏
Fulfilling the "Law of Christ" should be our priority because it is one of major proofs of our love for the Lord Jesus Christ.
πJohn 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments (laws).
You must understand that these His laws or commandments are not the same as those of Moses. That of Moses is bondage-driven but that of Jesus is freedom-driven.
π1 John 5:3
AMP: For the [true] love of God is this: that we do His commands [keep His ordinances and are mindful of His precepts and teaching]. And these orders of His are not irksome (burdensome, oppressive, or grievous).
π€·π»♂ What is HIS commandment (law)?
π1 John 3:23 "And this is his commandment, That we should...love one another..."
It is important to state that everyone has their own burdens. They hide it behind their smiles and jokes but deep inside their hearts they are going through discouraging circumstances.
There is every tendency that you are this moment, upon reading this message, sitting next to someone who is bothered with burdens.
π A burden is a heavy load; a responsibility that has become a cause of worry. π
With that been said, can you imagine how many people (especially Christians) who are burdened right now? They have school fees to think about, house rent on their minds, and many other bills that when combined together almost overshadows their monthly salaries.
Being a Christian doesn't exempt you from responsibilities, especially challenging responsibilities. You won't stop paying school fees just because you are born again. However, scholarship is possible as you cast your burden on JESUS and keep your faith IN and focus ON Him.
Now, in as much as Jesus cares for us, hence the admonition to cast our care upon Him (π1 Peter 5:7), He has also anointed and appointed us (BELIEVERS) to carry the burdens of other believers within and without our sphere of contact.
"But is Jesus not enough for such task"?, you may be asking. Of course, He's more than enough. However, He has chosen NOT to function alone. He has RECRUITED us to operate WITH Him.
π1 Corinthians 3:9
"For we are labourers together with God..."
So, now you see why the Holy Spirit impressed it upon Apostle Paul to emphasize on the need to bear or carry each other's burdens (responsibilities)!
He's NOT asking you to carry ALL... But at least carry SOME. Allow yourself to be used by Jesus to lift someone's burden. He's always scouting for VOLUNTEERS. He's always scouting for vessels... Willing VESSELS... Through whom He would make Himself strong on behalf of those who are WEARY with burdens.
π2 Chronicles 16:9 "For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth..."
Isn't it amazing, that the Burden-Bearer Himself (Jesus) [πMatt 11:28] is asking us to JOIN Him in lifting burdens off of believers? It's A CALLING one shouldn't ignore. A CALLING one should embrace.
If we couldn't do it He wouldn't have asked us to. Whatever He commands you to do is what He has already given you ability to do. His ability is in His commandment. If you didn't do it, it's not because you lack ability, it's because you lack understanding.
πPhilippians 4:13 I can do all things THROUGH Christ which strengtheneth me.
So,
π Believe you can &
π Be bold to do what you know you can.
π Brace yourself for opportunities to do what you can.
Don't shy away from THIS CALLING to carry the burdens of other believers. It is an OPPORTUNITY placed in your path by God for you to walk in. You can't afford to fail the Father.
πEphesians 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
π€·π»♂ How To Carry The Burdens Of Believers!
1⃣ Prayerfully Bear Burdens
Responsibility is normal to everyone born into the world.
π As a father it is your responsibility to love your wife, protect and provide for your family.
π As a mother, it is your responsibility to submit wholeheartedly to your husband, care and guide your children.
π As a person (male or female) it is your responsibility to SUPPORT your biological parents and SPONSOR the ministry of your spiritual parents.
BUT any responsibility that causes WORRY (anxiety) is no longer normal. It is spiritual. In other words, demonical forces have taken it upon themselves to cause life to be difficult for that person. This results in being constantly worried or bothered and discouraged.
I believe it was for this purpose Jesus said to:
πMatthew 6:31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
This is where PRAYER comes in. In praying, we deal with forces beyond the physical world; forces responsible for causing negative vices such as worry, depression, discouragement etc.
πPhilippians 4:6
AMP: Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God.
Now, notice this ordeal... Apostle Paul said π
π2 Corinthians 7:5 For, when we were come into Macedonia, our flesh had NO REST, but we were TROUBLED on every side; WITHOUT were FIGHTINGS, WITHIN were FEARS.
π€·π»♂What was the CURE? Prayer! π
π1 Thessalonians 5:25 Brethren, PRAY for us.
2⃣ Financially Bear Burdens
In as much as prayer is of paramount significance, you cannot underestimate the vital place of MONEY π°π΅.
πEcclesiastes 10:19 A feast is made for laughter, and wine maketh merry: but MONEY ANSWERETH ALL THINGS.
Be smart enough to understand that sometimes after praying for someone, you must trust the Father to also increase your financial muscles for the alleviation of the burdens of that believer.
Let's this π remarkable scripture speak to your heart:
π2 Corinthians 9:8 "And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; THAT YE, ALWAYS HAVING all sufficiency in all things, MAY ABOUND TO EVERY GOOD WORK..."
(I hope you saw π that π)
3⃣ Socially Bear Burdens
This works in two ways:
1* Speaking well of other believers in public.
Be the one who kills people's low self-esteem and inferiority complex NOT the one who resurrects it. Train yourself to speak well of other believers, either privately or publicly. He or she may not know but Jesus knows.
In hyping believers, you help them look inside themselves where Christ domiciles by His Spirit, and see what treasures they carry (π2 Cor 4:7).
Verbally help fellow believers overlook and ignore the TRASHES around them and the ASHES on their day to day activities and focus on the TREASURES deposited in their spirits. πPhilemon 1:6
All a believer may need could be a word of encouragement; words that inspire them to remain focused on Jesus and all His finished work concerning them, against all odds.
πColossians 4:6 Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.
2* Recommending other believers.
I have come to understand that no one is "actually poor". You may not have enough money to help another believer but you may know someone who has. Make it happen. You have no excuse.
π1 Cor 10:24
AMP: Let no one then seek his own good and advantage and profit, but [rather] each one of the other [let him seek the welfare of his neighbor].
If you know a believer is experiencing difficulty is feeding his or her family and you know someone who can help out, don't monopolize the person. Recommend this your brother or sister in Christ to such a person.
Don't worry about being forgotten or unappreciated. Your reward will swallow the regret.
πLuke 6:35 "But love...and do good, and lend, HOPING FOR NOTHING AGAIN; and your reward shall be great..."
4⃣ Physically Bear Burdens
If you have prayed for that believer, you have done well. Well done!
If you have verbally and socially recommended him or her, you have also done well. If you have financially assisted him or her, you have done very well too.
Nevertheless, you cannot rule out the fact that most burdens are physical and therefore requires physical approach. You are to use your physical abilities to help carry the burdens of other believers.
π€·π»♂How?
π Use Your TIME
Spend time with other believers.
Just as your PRAYERS matter, your PRESENCE matters as well. Don't be a lone ranger.
Don't be an INTROVERT. Keeping to yourself is EVIL.
It is ISOLATION, and that's where Satan thrives.
Even God hated it:
πGenesis 2:18 And the LORD God said, It IS NOT GOOD that the man should be ALONE; I will make him an help meet for him.
πEcclesiastes 4:9 TWO ARE BETTER THAN ONE; because they have a good reward for their labour. 4:10 For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up. 4:11 Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone?
π There is confidence in creative, compassionate and especially Christ conscious companionship! ✏
Jesus Himself knew this principle and implemented it. π
πLuke 10:1 After these things the LORD appointed other seventy also, and SENT THEM TWO AND TWO before His face into every city and place, whither He Himself would come.
π Use Your ENERGY
It is expected of you to use your strength to help relieve other believers of their burdens. If you meet a believer doing something tedious, it is only proper to assist him or her. Be a helping hand. Lend a helping hand. Jesus has no hands but yours with which to reach out to one of His own. Be available!
πRomans 12:6-7
AMP: Having gifts (faculties, talents, qualities) that differ according to the grace given us, let us use them: [He whose gift is] prophecy, [let him prophesy] according to the proportion of his faith;
[He whose gift is] PRACTICAL SERVICE, let him GIVE HIMSELF TO SERVING; he who teaches, to his teaching;
My spiritual father
Apostle Victor James
(#TheRockStar Apostle of JESUS CHRIST) said and I quote: π
π "Refuse to be among those who being puffed up by pride think they are too big to be USED by someone. Listen to me, 'someone MUST use you'"!
π€·π»♂ How was Joshua described?
πJoshua 1:1 "Now after the death of Moses the servant of the LORD it came to pass, that the LORD spake unto JOSHUA the son of Nun, MOSES' MINISTER (servant),..."
π€·π»♂ How was Elisha, the man with double portion of the anointing, described?
π2 Kings 3:11 But Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of the LORD, that we may enquire of the LORD by him? And one of the king of Israel's servants answered and said, Here is ELISHA the son of Shaphat, WHICH POURED WATER ON THE HANDS OF ELIJAH.
π€·π»♂ How was Epaphroditus described?
πPhilippians 2:25 Yet I supposed it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, MY BROTHER, and COMPANION in labour, and FELLOW SOLDIER, but your messenger, and he that MINISTERED TO MY WANTS.
(In other words, "he services my wants, relieving me of stress.") WOW π±. This is DEEP!
π€·π»♂ How was Timothy described?
πPhilippians 2:19 But I trust in the Lord Jesus to send Timotheus shortly unto you, that I also may be of good comfort, when I know your state. 2:20 For I have no man likeminded, who will naturally care for your state. 2:21 For all seek their own, not the things which are Jesus Christ's. 2:22 But ye know the proof of him, that, as a son with the father, he hath served with me in the gospel.
CONCLUSION!
π There is a CALL upon each of us....
π There is a RESPONSIBILITY on each of us....
π There is an ASSIGNMENT for us of us....
π π π π π π π
And that is "to bear (carry) one another's burden"!
π±Let's embrace it!
π±Let's make Jesus proud.
π±Let's bring glory to the Father.
π±Let's become vessels through which the Holy Ghost expresses the nature and character of Christ.
